Essential safety tips for running in the dark

When running in the dark

  1. Wear reflective Clothing
  2. Reflective vest
  3. Flasher
  4. Obey all traffic signs
  5. Never run against a light or through a stop sign
  6. Use sidewalks
  7. Face traffic if you need to run on the road
  8. No headphones
  9. No music
  10. Don't run more than two abreast on sidewalks or roads
  11. Share the roads don't hog them
  12. If in a group stay with the pace group
  13. Never run along (let someone know your route and what time to expect you back)
  14. Know the route and its hazards

In other words if you cannot be seen the odds of getting hit increase. Be the "Christmas tree with the brightest lights on the road when on a night run"
