Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be an experienced runner?
Not at all! We have pace groups for all levels, from walkers to experienced marathoners. Our pacers will make sure you feel comfortable and supported.
Is there a membership fee?
No. BDBR is completely free to join and participate. We're a community-run organization powered by volunteers and donations.
What should I bring to my first run?
Just yourself and running shoes! Bring water if you prefer. We recommend arriving 10 minutes early to meet your pace group.
How do I become a pacer?
We're always looking for dedicated runners to lead pace groups. Email us at hello@boogiedownbronxrunners.org to learn about pacer requirements and training.
What if I can't keep up with my pace group?
No problem! You can switch to a different pace group anytime. Our goal is for everyone to finish strong and safe—not to push beyond your limits.
Do you offer training plans?
Yes! Active members have access to training plans for 5K, 10K, half marathon, and full marathon distances. Our experienced pacers can also provide guidance.
Can I volunteer if I'm not a runner?
Absolutely! We need help with event planning, social media, photography, and more. There are many ways to support the community beyond running.
How can my company sponsor BDBR?
We partner with businesses that support our mission. Email hello@boogiedownbronxrunners.org to discuss partnership opportunities and benefits.
