The Boogie Down Bronx Runners’ 4th Annual Summer Festival drew an impressive crowd of over 70 participants to Pelham Bay Park this weekend.
The Bronx, NY-based Boogie Down Bronx Runners, a pioneer in promoting community wellness, health, and fitness, successfully concluded its 4th Annual Summer Festival in Pelham Bay Park this weekend.
The event witnessed a remarkable turnout throughout the day, with more than 70 participants joining in the celebration. Runners, friends, families, and children filled the park for a day filled with movement, music, and a sense of community.
The morning commenced with a series of challenging runs. Members of the club’s marathon training group logged an impressive 14+ miles before returning to join the festival festivities. This dedication from the group is a testament to their commitment as they prepare for the upcoming fall marathon season. Meanwhile, others maintained their fitness with runs ranging from 6 miles and beyond.
After the run, the focus shifted to family-friendly activities and fun. Attendees engaged in various wellness activities, participated in kids’ activities, and had the opportunity to connect with neighbors in one of the Bronx’s most cherished green spaces.
A club organizer expressed the festival’s significance, stating, “Four years in, this festival transcends the boundaries of running. It embodies health, family, and the spirit of the Bronx. From our 14-mile runners this morning to those attempting their first hill sprints, everyone feels a sense of belonging here.”
