Saturday Trail Running

Location: 6100 Mosholu Ave, Bronx, NY 10471, Van Cortland Park

Parking: Free parking is available at the horse stables inside the park.

Objective: The goal of this run is to build strength and speed by pushing up hills.

Bring: Hydration and fuel.

Meeting Time: 6:30 a.m.

Start Time: 6:45a.m. sharp.

Warmup: A short warmup to the park house, followed by stretching, hill strides, and a 6 mile run.

To master hill training, consistency is key. If you haven’t been maintaining a weekly mileage of 25 miles or more, let’s discuss how we can help you develop a running schedule that works for you.

What to expect

We meet at 6:50 AM for a warm-up. The run starts at 7:00 AM sharp with a short warmup to the park house, followed by stretching and hill strides or stairs.

Group 1 (consistent all year): 6 one-mile loop repeats at 12-minute pace and faster.
Group 2 (new to hills): 4 one-mile loop repeats at 14-minute pace and faster.

The objective is to build strength and speed by pushing up hills. To master this training, you must be consistent and keep up with your weekly mileage (ideally 25+ miles per week).
